CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE FOLLOWING RIGHTS-OF-WAY
OUT OF JACKSON WOODS, UNIT 1, AS DEDICATED IN PLAT
OF JACKSON WOODS, UNIT 1, RECORDED IN VOL. 26, PAGES
15 AND 16, MAP RECORDS OF.NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND
ONLY AS TO THAT AREA SO DEDICATED:
1. 50 -FOOT RIGHT OF WAY KNOWN AS CLARKSBURG STREET,
BETWEEN STONEWALL BOULEVARD AND GETTYSBURG STREET;
2. AN IRREGULAR SHAPED PORTION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY .. OUT
OF GETTYSBURG STREET;
3. 10 -FOOT WIDE UTILITY EASEMENT BETWEEN LOTS 35 AND
36, BLOCK F, JACKSON WOODS, UNIT 1,
SAID PORTIONS BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing con-
cerning the closing of a portion of the hereinafter more fully described ""
rights-of-way in Jackson Woods, Unit 1, situated in the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, was given by publication and mail to the last
known address of the owners of property abutting the hereinafter more fully
described rights-of-way and within 450 feet of the area to be closed and
thereafter, pursuant to said notice, public hearing was held at Regular
Council Meeting of the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi on
Wednesday, November 26, 1980, in accordance with the provisions of the
City Charter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing
that it would best serve the public convenience and necessity to close the
hereinafter more fully described rights-of-way and that the same revert to
the abutting property owners:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described rights-of-way in Jackson
Woods, Unit 1, as dedicated in plat of said Jackson Woods, Unit 1, recorded
in Vol. 26, pages 15 and 16, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and only
as to that area so dedicated, be and the same are hereby closed for public
use and abandoned to the abutting property owners:

Parcel 1
Being a 50 -foot right-of-way known as Clarksburg
Street between Stonewall Boulevard and Gettysburg
Street, more fully described as follows:
Being an irregularly shaped tract out of Clarksburg Street right-of-way,
Jackson Woods Unit 1, as shown by map of record in Volume 26, Pages 15-16, Nueces
County, Texas.
Beginning at a point on the south right-of-way of Gettysburg Street,
said point being the common northerly corner of Lots 10 and 11, Block G;
Thence westerly along the arc of a circular curve to
RADIUS = 1225.0 feet, TANGENT = 8.09 feet, CS= 0°45'25",
16.18 feet to the point of beginning;
Thence easterly along the arc of a circular curve to
RADIUS = 1225 feet, TANGENT = 18.57 feet, CS= 1°44'12",
37.13 feet to a P.C.C.;

Thence S 8° 54' 20" W, along the east right-of-way of said Clarksburg
Street a distance of 634.83 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the
left;
Thence along the arc of said curve whose RADIUS = 10.0 feet, TANGENT =
9.34 feet, A = 85°06'56", a distance of 15.03 feet to a point on a circular
curve to the right;
Thence along the arc of said curve whose RADIUS = 529.38 feet, TANGENT =
35.99 feet, 6 = 7°46'44", a distance of 71$7 feet to the P.C. of a circular
curve to the left;
Thence along the arc of said curve whose RADIUS =

Being an irregular shaped portion of right-of-way out of
Gettysburg Street, more fully described as follows:
Being an irregularly shaped tract out of Gettysburg Street right-of-way,
Jackson Woods Unit I, as shown by map of record in Volume 26, Pages 15-16, Nueces
County, Texas.
Beginning at a point on the north right-of-way of said Gettysburg Street,
said point being a common lot corner of Lot 33 and 34, Block F, Jackson Woods
Unit I;
Thence along said right-of-way and along a circular curve to the left,
whose RADIUS = 1175.0 feet, TANGENT = 14.79 feet, 8 = 1°26'33", a distance
of 29.58 feet to the point of beginning, a P.C.C. of a circular curve to the
left;
Thence along the arc of said curve whose RADIUS = 20.0 feet, TANGENT =
8.28 feet, 8 = 45°, a distance of 15.71 feet to a P.R.C.;
Thence along the arc of a circular curve to the right whose RADIUS =
50.0 feet, TANGENT = 71.18 feet, 8 = 109°49'48", a distance of 95.85 feet
to a point on a circular curve to the right;
Thence along the arc of said curve, whose RADIUS = 713.23 feet, TANGENT
21.30 feet, 6 = 3°25'16" a distance of 42.59 feet to a P.C.C.;
Thence along a circular curve to the right whose RADIUS = 1175.0 feet,
TANGENT = 26.77 feet, A = 2°36'36", a distance of 53.52 feet to the point
of beginning, and containing 1534.24 SF (0.035 Acres).

Being a l0 -foot wide utility easement between Lots 35 and
36, Block F, Jackson Woods, Unit 1, more fully described
as follows:
Being a 10 foot wide utility easement out of Lots 35 and 36, Block F,
Jackson Woods Unit 1, as shown by plat recorded in Volume 26, Pages
15-16, Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of said Lot 35;
THENCE S 8° 54' 20" W 84.55 feet and S 75° 28' 36" W 5.31 feet to
the point of beginning;
THENCE S 8° 53' 20" W, at 5.45 feet pass the common boundary of Lots
35 and 36, in all a distance of 10.90 feet to a point;
THENCE S 75° 28' 36" W 106.27 feet to a point on the arc of a circular
curve to the left, said point being on the right-of-way of CLARKBURG
Street;
THENCE along the arc of said curve whose radius = 50.00 feet, A _
11° 28' 42", T = 5.03 feet at 5.01 feet pass the common corner of
Lots 35 and 36, in all a distance of 10.02 feet to a point;
THENCE N 75° 28' 36" E 110.57 feet to the point of beginning, and
containing 0.025 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase; word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect.
SECTION 3. The fact that the public convenience and necessity
would be better served by the closing of the -said rights-of-way as aforesaid
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested
the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
