AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15839 BY AMENDING THE ASSESSMENT
ROLL FOR CABANISS ACRES AREA IMPROVEMENTS AND ADOPTING
THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15839, passed and approved on
October 22, 1980, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to
adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting
property owners on the following streets:
Cabaniss Acres Area
1. Joyce and Frederick Drives and Carolyn Street, from
Ayers Street to Martin Street,
2. Wood Street, from the south end to Joyce Drive,
3. Martin Street, from Dorado Street to Holly Road,
4. Dorado Street, from Martin Street to Hacala Street,
5. Hacala Street, from Dorado Street to Frio Street, and
6. Frio Street, from Hacala Street to Station 16+25.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
adopting the final assessment roll as aforesaid to correctly reflect the
costs to be apportioned between the City and the owners of abutting property,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shal1 take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the/. day of September,
1982.

FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL
CABANISS ACRES AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS
The Cabaniss Acres Area Street Improvements include improvements to the following
streets:
1. Joyce and Frederick Drives and Carolyn Street, from Ayers Street to
Martin Street,
2. Wood Street, from the south end to Joyce Drive,
3. Martin Street, from Dorado Street to Holly Road,
4. Frio Street, from Hacala Street to Station 16+25.
These streets were constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the lay-
ing of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche
base and 111" or 2" Type "D" Hot Asphaltic pavement. Streets are 28', 38' or 40' wide
within the existing right-of-way. There are 4' or 5' wide reinforced concrete side-
walks 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced driveways as shown on the plans or where
requested by owners.
Planned construction of the following streets was not accomplished.
1. Dorado Street, from Martin Street to Hacala Street, and
2. Hacala Street, from Dorado Street to Frio Street.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy
adopted by the City. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by W. T. Young
Construction Company, the assessment rates are as follows:
