AMENDING ORDINANCE 16969, PASSED AND APPROVED ON
MARCH 31,1982, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO
AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENT
LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON SOUTHERN
STREET, FROM OCEAN DRIVE TO SOUTH ALAMEDA STREET, AS
HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance 16969, passed and approved on March 31,
1982, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt the
final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners
on Southern Street, from Ocean Drive to South Alameda Street, as more fully
described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a substantial copy
of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A,u and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affair's by making adjustments in the
assessment roll for the above described public improvement project, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /fg- day of October,
1982.

FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL
SOUTHERN STREET*
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
This project includes improvements to the following street:
Southern Street, from Ocean Drive to South Alameda Street.
This street shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit
the laying of a standard 6" curb and. gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8"
compacted caliche base and 11/2" Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete pavement. The streets
will be 28' in width within the existing 50' right-of-way. There will be 4' wide
reinforced concrete sidewalks 4" thick and 6" thick,reinforced.concrete driveways
as shown on the plans or where requested by property owners.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving
policy of the City. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by King
Construction Company, the assessment rates are as follows:
