AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF BETHUNE
DAY NURSERY, INC. BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO
A 1.13 ACRE TRACT OUT OF AN 8.0 ACRE TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED
TO F. A. BLUCHER BY HENRY L. KINNEY, FROM "A-2" APARTMENT
HOUSE DISTRICT TO "AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE DISTRICT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of
Bethune Day Nursery, Inc. for amendment to the zoning map of the City
of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all
persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard to consider the same
before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance
with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held
on Tuesday, February 20, 1990, during a meeting of the City Council in
the Council Chambers at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience
and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its
citizens:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on a 1.13 acre tract out of an
8.0 acre tract of land conveyed to F. A. Blucher by Henry L. Kinney,
as described in the metes and bounds description attached hereto as
Exhibit A, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be
changed from "A-2" Apartment House District to "AB" Professional
Office District.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended as herein
ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973,
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain
full force and effect.

SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.

SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due
to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting
the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

dated November 14, 1849 and said 8.0 acres being out of the Enrique Villareal
10 League Grant in Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point on the West boundary line of Carrizo Street for the
Northeast corner of Lot 0, Blucher Subdivision A, a map of which is recorded
in Volume 47, Page 19, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas and for the
Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South 74'00'00" West, with the North boundary line of said Lot Q,
275.00 feet for the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE North 16'00'00" West 165.00 feet for the Northwest corner of this
tract;
THENCE North 74'00'00" East 90.00 feet for an interior corner of this
tract;
THENCE North 16'00'00" West Z0.00 feet for a corner of this tract;
THENCE North 74'00'00" East 185.00 feet to the West boundary line of
Carrizo Street for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South 16'00'00" East, with the West boundary line of Carrizo
Street, parallel with its centerline and 30.00 feet distant therefrom,
measured at right angles thereto, 185.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
