HomeMy WebLinkAbout020987 RES - 09/18/1990A RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING THE LIFE OF PATRICIA H. SULLIVAN WHEREAS, Patricia H. Sullivan was a highly -respected, dedicated civic leader in our community for many years; and WHEREAS, Pat Sullivan was born in Kingsville, Texas, but moved to Corpus Christi in the early 1950's and resided here with her husband and 3 sons; and WHEREAS, Pat Sullivan received her advanced education here in Corpus Christi, having graduated from Del Mar College, Texas A&I University at Corpus Christi, and Corpus Christi State University where she obtained her M.B.A.; and WHEREAS, she served in many offices of the League of Women Voters, including Community Relations Vice -President; Chairman of Transportation, State Redistricting, and Women under Texas Law studies; and as a member of the local, state and national study committees; and WHEREAS, Pat served as a member of many City -related committees, having served on the Transit Advisory Committee; Project 90 -Growth Task Force; and the City Charter Revision Commission; and WHEREAS, most recently, Pat served as a valuable member of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority, having been appointed as an original member in August of 1985, and where she was instrumental in establishing an outstanding transportation system for our area; and WHEREAS, Patricia H. Sullivan passed from this life on September 4, 1990, after a brief illness: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: That the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi for and on behalf of the citizens of this City commemorates the life of Patricia H. Sullivan. Our lives were enriched for having known Pat and she will be missed by all who knew and worked with her. The City expresses its condolences to her family and her friends. The City Secretary is directed to provide her family with an official copy of this Resolution commemorating Patricia H. Sullivan.
