AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH TRAFFIC SIGNALS,
INC. FOR $174,906 AND WITH CLIFFORD OF VERMONT, INC. FOR
$17,550 PROVIDING FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT SYNCHRONIZATION
IMPROVEMENTS ON STAPLES STREET FROM LEOPARD STREET TO WEBER
ROAD; APPROPRIATING $200,000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute agreements with Traffic Signals, Inc. for $174,906 and with
Clifford of Vermont, Inc. for $17,550 providing for traffic light
synchronization improvements on Staples Street from Leopard Street to
Weber Road, all as more fully set forth in the plans and
specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the
City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and
according to the bid of Traffic Signals, Inc. and Clifford of Vermont,
Inc., said bids being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of
Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $120,000 as
the grant amount to be received from the State under the Traffic Light
Synchronization Program and $80,000 received from the Regional
Transportation Authority for a total of $200,000 of which $192,456 is
for the contract awards and $7,544 is for contingency expenses
applicable to Project No. 220-601-602.14, Staples Street Traffic Light
Synchronization Program.
