HomeMy WebLinkAbout021055 ORD - 12/18/1990AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COMPENSATION ORDINANCE 8127, AS AMENDED, SECTION 501, SALARY SCHEDULES "A" AND "B", TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN APPROXIMATE GENERAL INCREASE OF 5% FOR EMPLOYEES IN GRADES 8-14, 4% FOR EMPLOYEES IN GRADES 15-21, AND 3% FOR EMPLOYEES IN GRADES 22-43 EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 3, 1990; AMENDING SECTION 510, MANAGERIAL GROUP PAY PLAN 1990-91, BY REPLACING IT WITH A REVISED SECTION 510 EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 3, 1990 PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF AN APPROXIMATE 3% GENERAL INCREASE AND ADJUSTMENT TO SALARY RANGES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 8127, as amended, Section 501, Salary Schedules, be amended by providing an approximate general increase of 5% for Grades 8-14, 4% for Grades 15-21, and 3% for Grades 22-43; and by adjusting the respective Salary Schedules A & B, rounded off as appropriate, to be effective December 3, 1990. SECTION 2. That Ordinance 8127, as amended, Section 510, Managerial Group Pay Plan 1990-91, be amended effective December 3, 1990 by adopting the revised "Managerial Group Pay Plan 1990-91", attached here to as Exhibit A, providing an approximate three percent (3%) adjustment to salary ranges, rounded to the nearest hundred, and an approximately three percent (3%) increase to salaries. SECTION 3. That Ordinance 8127, as amended, Section 510, Managerial Group Pay Plan 1990-91, be amended effective December 3, 1990 by adding the classi- fication of Assistant Fire Chief (F03), as set forth in Exhibit A. SECTION 4. If, for any reason, any section, paragraph, sub -division, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, sub -division, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, sub -division, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
