C. SPECIAL ITEM:
1. Executive Sessionpursuant to Texas Government Code, Section 551.074, Personnel Matters,
to deliberate the appointment, employment, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of
the City Manager with possible action related thereto in open session. (~'~ Q-~{RC~~)
The following reasonably unforeseeable combination of circumstances causes apublic necessity for
the City Council to convene in emergency session as posted above. At 3:20 p.m., Friday, May 30,
2008, the City Manager submitted to the Mayor a letter regarding his employment status with the
City of Corpus Christi. Beginning on Monday, June 2, 2008, one City Council member is leaving
town for an extended two (2) week period of time. Mayor Henry Garrett requires all City Council
members to be present to discuss personnel matters involving the City Manager. Delaying
consideration of this issue for 2 weeks would not be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Corpus Christi and the efficient and effective administration of the City's affairs.
D. Adjournment.
POSTING STATEMENT:
The agenda was posted on the City's official bulletin board at the front entrance of City Hall, 1201
Leopard Street, at 3:45 p.m., May 30, 2008 and remained so posted for at least 2 hours before
said meeting. I further certify that special notice was given by telephone, facsimile transmission or
