HomeMy WebLinkAbout022852 ORD - 02/25/1997AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $50,000 IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND (DERIVED FROM A CONTRACT WITH THE GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION) FOR THE CLEAN CITIES ALTERNATIVE FUELS INITIATIVES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That $50,000, which will be reimbursed through a contract with the General Services Commission for the State Energy Conservation Office, is appropriated from No. 162 Federal/State Grant Fund to hire a Clean Cities Program Coordinator and fund the Coordinator's expenses relating to the City's Clean Cities Alternative Fuels Initiatives. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, in meeting State Energy Conservation Office of the General Services Commission reporting deadlines to secure grant funding, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the doh day of February, 1997.
