HomeMy WebLinkAbout022853 ORD - 02/25/1997AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI (AUTHORITY) FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL POLICE SERVICES TO THE AUTHORITY ON A VOLUNTARY OVERTIME BASIS, FOR UP TO TWO YEARS AND NOT TO EXCEED S92,000, TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY OF GOVERNMENTAL RESOURCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute an interlocal agreement with the Housing Authority of the City of Corpus Christi (Authority) for the Corpus Christi Police Department to provide supplemental police services to the Authority on a voluntary overtime basis, for up to two years and not to exceed $92,000 payable out of current revenue of the Authority from the HUD Grant for Police Services to improve the efficiency and productivity of governmental resources. A copy of the Agreement is on file with the City Secretary. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is assedand shall take effect upon first reading as an � emergency measure this the chi 5/h day of ,t,�� ` J , 1997.
