HomeMy WebLinkAbout022870 ORD - 03/18/1997AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE AMOUNT OF S92,610 FOR TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION AND CONTROL AND EXPANDED OUTREACH SERVICES DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1997 TO DECEMBER 31, 1997; ADDING 592,610 TO THE NUMBER 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND -HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $92,610 from the Texas Department of Health in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund for tuberculosis prevention and control and expanded outreach services during the period January 1,1997 to December 31, 1997; adding $92,610 to the No. 162 Federal/State Grant Fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ror inance is p sled and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the / If - day of 7/pith , 1997.
