AUTHORIZING A $910,218 INCREASE IN THE CITY'S
GREENWOOD DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
ESCROW ACCOUNT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO PAY FOR SANITARY SEWER
MANHOLE AND JUNCTION BOX REPAIRS ON
GREENWOOD DRIVE BETWEEN SOUTH PADRE ISLAND
DRIVE AND SARATOGA BOULEVARD IN CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
It is necessary to repair certain sanitary sewer manholes and junction boxes that are located
on Greenwood Drive between South Padre Island Drive and Saratoga Boulevard in Corpus Christi,
Texas. Since a Texas Department of Transportation ("TXDOT") street and drainage construction
project is occurring along the affected portion of Greenwood Drive, the city will pay TXDOT to
make these repairs by increasing the Greenwood Drive Improvements Project escrow account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. A $910,218 increase in the city's Greenwood Drive Improvements Project
escrow account with TXDOT is authorized to pay for sanitary sewer manhole and junction box
repairs on Greenwood Drive between South Padre Island Drive and Saratoga Boulevard in Corpus
Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinancea passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the /51-kday of l P , 1997.

requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
