HomeMy WebLinkAbout022907 ORD - 04/22/1997AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $4,996,807 FROM INCREASED REVENUES IN THE COMBINED UTILITY SYSTEM FUND DUE TO INCREASED COSTS OF NATURAL GAS PURCHASES; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 022643, WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 96-97 BUDGET, BY INCREASING BOTH REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES TO THE COMBINED UTILITY SYSTEM FUND BY $4,996,807, FOR THE INCREASED COSTS OF NATURAL GAS PURCHASES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $4,996,807 is appropriated from increased revenues in the Combined Utility Sytem Fund due to increased costs of natural gas purchases. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 022643, which adopted the FY 96-97 Budget, is amended by adding $4,996,807 to the Combined Utility System Fund, both as increased revenues and as increased expenditures, due to the increased cost of natural gas purchases. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that j htis ordinance is pfIssed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the h/l day of Cr(fit i , 1997.
