AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE APPROXIMATELY A TWO-MONTH LEASE FROM MAY 20,
1997 THROUGH JULY 19, 1997 WITH CONQUEST AIRLINES
CORPORATION FOR TICKET COUNTER SPACE, OFFICE SPACE,
PASSENGER HOLDROOM SPACE, APRON SPACE, AND JOINT USE OF
THE BAGGAGE CLAIM SPACE AND OTHER COMMON AREAS AT
CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN CONSIDERATION OF
PAYMENT OF FEES THAT TOTAL $4.06 PER ENPLANED PASSENGER;
SPECIFYING THAT LEASE RENTS, FEES, AND CHARGES ARE
ADJUSTABLE ANNUALLY BASED ON A FIXED FORMULA;
SPECIFYING THAT CONQUEST AIRLINES CORPORATION WILL PAY
THE RENTS, FEES, AND CHARGES SET BY THIS LEASE EFFECTIVE
FROM JANUARY 23, 1996 ON; PROVIDING A RESTRUCTURED
PAYMENT SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN LEASE RENTS, FEES, AND
CHARGES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute approximately
a two-month lease from May 20, 1997 through July 19, 1997 with Conquest Airlines Corporation
(Conquest) for ticket counter space, office space, passenger holdroom space, apron space, and joint
use of the baggage claim space and other common areas at Corpus Christi International Airport in
consideration of payment of fees that total $4.06 per enplaned passenger. Lease rents, fees, and
charges are adjustable annually based on a fixed formula.
The lease specifies that Conquest will pay the required rents, fees, and charges from January
23, 1996 on. It also provides a restructured payment schedule for certain lease rents, fees, and
charges.
A copy of the lease is filed with the City Secretary.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that,his ordinance. i�,,ppssed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
