AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS WITH THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, INC. AT MOLINA, BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF CORPUS CHRISTI -LA ARMADA
BRANCH, GULF COAST COUNCIL OF LA RAZA, COMMUNITIES IN
SCHOOLS, AND THE CLIFF MAUS VILLAGE TO PROVIDE SUMMER
FOOD SERVICES TO THESE AGENCIES FOR THE PERIOD JUNE 2,1997
THROUGH JULY 25, 1997; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute
agreements with the Neighborhood Centers of Corpus Christi, Inc. at Molina, Boys & Girls Club of
Corpus Christi, Boys & Girls Club of Corpus Christi - La Armada Branch, Gulf Coast Council of
La Raza, Communities in Schools, and Cliff Maus Village to provide summer food services to
these agencies for the period June 2, 1997 through July 25, 1997. A copy of each agreement is on
file in the office of the City secretary.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the A1A day of , 1997.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: Uwe, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
