The Transportation Code, Section 502.173, authorizes an additional fee of not less than $.50
or more than $1.50 for registering a vehicle in each county.
Each county may deduct administrative expenses of not more than 10% of the revenues from
the additional fee; the remaining revenue is apportioned among the cities and unincorporated areas
on a population basis.
If the $1.50 fee is adopted, estimated revenues are $345,000, with the City's share being
$275,000, after deducting the 10% administrative costs.
