HomeMy WebLinkAbout023083 ORD - 09/30/1997ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A $402,900 GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND TO PAY FOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN BY THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The Texas Department of Transportation ("TXDOT") has provided a $402,900 grant for transportation planning and related activities to be undertaken by the Metropolitan Planning Organization. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is appropriated in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund a $402,900 grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to pay for transportation planning and related activities to be undertaken by the Metropolitan Planning Organization. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the, l f H1 day of hb pti Lk- , 1997.
