HomeMy WebLinkAbout023114 ORD - 10/28/1997ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CORPUS CHRISTI REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (RTA) FOR THE CITY TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF RODD FIELD ROAD/WILLIAMS DRIVE AND OF WALDRON ROAD/ COMPTON-KNICKERBOCKER DRIVE AND THE RTA TO REIMBURSE THE CITY'S COSTS, NOT TO EXCEED $160,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority for the City to design and construct traffic signal improvements at the intersections of Rodd Field Road/Williams Drive and of Waldron Road/Compton-Knickerbocker Drive and the RTA to reimburse the City's costs, not to exceed $160,000. A copy of the agreement is on file with the City Secretary SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is pas d and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 4S4 h day of (jl`J.[h,h) , 1997. For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
