HomeMy WebLinkAbout023141 ORD - 11/18/1997ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $40,502 FROM THE TEXAS STATE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES COMMISSION -MAJOR URBAN RESOURCE LIBRARY GRANT IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL AND STATE GRANTS FUND TO PROVIDE FOR NON-RESIDENTS USE OF THE COLLECTION AND REFERENCE SERVICES WITHOUT CHARGE DURING STATE FISCAL YEAR 1998; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $40,502 is appropriated from the Texas State Library and Archives Commissionl-Major Urban Resource Library Grant in the No. 162 Federal and State Grants Fund to provide for non-residents use of the collection and reference services without charge during State fiscal year 1998. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that t ?ordinance i passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /Kt i"1 day oftL,kIlbL,k , 1997.
