APPROPRIATING $583,157 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
JUSTICE IN THE NO. 162 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT FUND
TO PURCHASE POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLES AND NON -
POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLES FOR USE BY FIELD PATROL
AND INVESTIGATORS; TRANSFERRING $64,795 FROM THE NO.
111 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AND APPROPRIATING
IT IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND AS THE
CITY MATCH FOR THE VEHICLE PURCHASES; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $583,157 is appropriated from the U.S. Department of Justice to
purchase police package vehicles and non -police package vehicles for use by field patrol and
investigators in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund.
SECTION 2. That $64,795 is transferred from the No. 111 Law Enforcement Trust Fund
and appropriated as the City's match for the vehicle purchases in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants
Fund.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that t is ordinance's passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two

finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
