1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND FOR FUNDING ELIGIBLE UNDER THE
FY 09 OPERATION STONEGARDEN GRANT PROGRAM TO
REIMBURSE FUEL, OVERTIME, FRINGE BENEFITS, AND
EQUIPMENT EXPENDITURES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S
COLLABORATIVE ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS WITH NUECES
COUNTY ALONG ROUTES OF INGRESS AND EGRESS INCLUDING
(BUT NOT LIMITED TO) U. S HIGHWAY 77 AND STATE HIGHWAY 44;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $170,272.66 is appropriated from Nueces County in the No. 1061
Police Grants fund for funding eligible under the FY 09 Operation Stonegarden Grant
Program to reimburse fuel, overtime, fringe benefits, and equipment expenditures for
the Police Department's collaborative enforcement efforts with Nueces County along
routes of ingress and egress including (but not limited to) U. S Highway 77 and State
Highway 44.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the
City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate
action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends
that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two
regular meetings, so that this ordinance is pp ssed and takes effect as an emergency
measure upon its first reading, this the day of January, 2010.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly authorized
representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the money
required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditure
described below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be
drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to
annual appropriation by the City Council.
