AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A
LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE BUCCANEER COMMISSION, INC.
("COMMISSION") FOR 2010 BUCCANEER DAYS FESTIVAL AND RELATED
ACTIVITIES TO ALLOW USE OF CITY PROPERTY BOUNDED BY RESACA
STREET TO PALO ALTO STREET AND SHORELINE BLVD AND N.
CHAPARRAL STREET, UP TO AND INCLUDING BARGE DOCK AREA;
DURING APRIL 22 THROUGH MAY 2, 2010, PROVIDE FOR COMMISSION
PAYING 50% POLICE OVERTIME, AND 100% OF ALL OTHER CITY COSTS
AND FEES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute a lease agreement with
the Buccaneer Commission to conduct the 2010 Buccaneer Days Festival and related activities. The
Agreement provides for use of Shoreline Blvd. from Power Street north up to and including the Barge
Dock area, during period of April 22 through May 2, 2010, and other areas, all as described in the
Lease agreement. The Agreement also provides for Commission paying 50% of police overtime costs
and 100% all other city costs and fees. A copy of the Agreement is on file with the City Secretary.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City
Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires
consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings sot t this ordinance is passed
and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the f.day of / i -t ! , 2010.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an
emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
