Authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute all documents
necessary to accept additional grant funds in the amount of$104,108.13
from Nueces County for funding eligible under the FY 2013 Department of
Homeland Security Grant Program Operation Stonegarden to reimburse
overtime, fringe benefits, and equipment expenditures for the Police
Department's collaborative enforcement efforts with Nueces County along
routes of ingress and egress to include (but not limited to) U. S. Highway
77 and State Highway 44; appropriating the $104,108.13 in the No. 1061
Police Grants Fund; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to accept additional grant funds in the amount of$104,108.13 from Nueces
County for funding eligible under the FY 2013 Department of Homeland Security Grant
Program Operation Stonegarden to reimburse overtime, fringe benefits, and equipment
expenditures for the Police Department's collaborative enforcement efforts with Nueces
County along routes of ingress and egress to include (but not limited to) U. S. Highway
77 and State Highway 44.
SECTION 2. That $104,108.13 is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City
Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for
the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter
rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular
meetings, so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect as an emergency measure
upon its first reading on May 26, 2015.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly authorized
representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the money required
for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditure described
below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has
not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation
by the City Council.
