Authorizing the City Manager or designee to submit a grant
application to the Texas Department of Transportation
(TXDOT) in the amount of $120,482.80 for the 2017
Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP)
within the Police Department, for Speed, Distracted Driving,
and Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) overtime enforcement,
with a city match of $42,158.03, for a total project cost of
$162,640.83, and authorizing the City Manager or designee to
accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or the City Manager's designee is authorized to
submit a grant application to the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) in
the amount of$120,482.80 for the 2017 Comprehensive Selective Traffic
Enforcement Project (STEP) within the Police Department, for Speed, Distracted
Driving, and Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) overtime enforcement, with a city
match of$42,158.03, for a total project cost of$162,640.83, and authorizing the
City Manager or designee to accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant.
SECTION 2. The City Manager or the City Manager's designee may accept,
reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if said grant
is awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the loss or misuse of these funds, the City of Corpus
Christi assures that the funds will be returned, in full, to the Texas Department of
Transportation.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly authorized
representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the money required
for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditure described
below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has
not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation
by the City Council.
