(4017 Capitol) to Southern Builder Co. LLC for$180,000; b) Creekway Park
(7306 Prairie) to Southern Builder Co. LLC for $75,000; and c) Violet Park
(4301 Violet)to Isaac Camacho and Janet L. Camacho for$127,000.
Whereas,pursuant to Resolution 030211, Ordinance 030253, and Texas Local Government
Code section 253.001, an election was held on November 4, 2014 which authorized sale of
certain parklands;
Whereas, the City entered into a broker agreement pursuant to Texas Local Government
Code section 253.014 and the broker has submitted the highest cash offers received;
Whereas, as required in Resolution 030278, at least 10 days prior to the first reading of this
ordinance, notice was sent to the property owners within 500 feet of the park land to be sold
giving notice of the time, date, and location of the council meeting, contact phone number;
and a statement that interested parties may appear; and signage was posted at each park;
Whereas, Texas Local Government Code Section 253.001 requires the governing body to
adopt an ordinance directing the municipality's mayor or city manager to execute the
conveyances;
Now,therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas:
SECTION 1. The statements made in the recital paragraphs of this ordinance are true and
correct and incorporated into this ordinance.
SECTION 2. That the following sales of surplus park property with any and all improvements
thereon are hereby approved subject to additional City terms and conditions amending the
standard real estate form:
a) Congress Park at or near 4017 Capitol to Southern Builder Co. LLC for
$180,000;
b) Creekway Park at or near 7306 Prairie to Southern Builder Co. LLC for
$75,000; and
c)Violet Park at or near 4301 Violet to Isaac Camacho and Janet L. Camacho for
$127,000.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to
complete the real estate sales transactions including but not limited to zoning and plat
applications, and all closing documents including special warranty deeds.
The regoing ordinance was read for the first time and passed to its second reading on this the
