Special City Council Meeting
Monday,November 19,2018 10:00 AM Council Chambers
A. Mayor Joe McComb to call the meeting to order.
Mayor McComb called the meetiing to order at 10:02 a.m.
B. City Secretary Rebecca L. Huerta to call the roll of the required Charter Officers.
City Secretary Rebecca L.Huerta called the roll and verified that a quorum of
the City Council and the required Charter Officers were present to conduct the
meeting.
(Council Member Lindsey-Opel arrived at 10:03 a.m.)
Charter Officers:
Interim City Manager Keith Selman,City Attorney Miles K.Risley and City
Secretary Rebecca L.Huerta.
Present 7- Mayor Joe McComb, Council Member Rudy Garza,Council Member
Michael Hunter, Council Member Debbie Lindsey-Opel, Council Member
Ben Molina, Council Member Everett Roy,and Council Member Greg Smith
Absent 1 - Council Member Paulette Guajardo
C. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION ITEMS:
1. Canvassing returns from the November 6, 2018 General and
Special Election
Ordinance canvassing returns and declaring the results of the General
Election held on November 6, 2018 in the City of Corpus Christi for the
purpose of electing the Mayor and eight Council Members; and of
Special Election on that same date for the adoption of six propositions;
making appropriate findings; and declaring an emergency.
Council Member Lindsey-Opel made a motion to approve the ordinance,
seconded by Council Member Garza. This Ordinance was passed on
emergency and approved with the following vote:
Aye: 7- Mayor McComb, Council Member Garza,Council Member Hunter,Council
Member Lindsey-Opel, Council Member Molina, Council Member Roy, and
Council Member Smith
Absent: 1 - Council Member Guajardo

2. Ordering the December 18, 2018 Runoff Election
Ordinance ordering a runoff election to be held on December 18, 2018 in
the City of Corpus Christi for the election of Mayor, and Council Member
Districts One, Two, Three, and Five; designating polling place locations,
enacting provisions incident and relating to the subject and purpose of
this ordinance; and declaring an emergency.
Council Member Lindsey-Opel made a motion to approve the ordinance,
seconded by Council Member Garza. This Ordinance was passed on
emergency and approved with the following vote:
Aye: 7- Mayor McComb, Council Member Garza, Council Member Hunter,Council
Member Lindsey-Opel,Council Member Molina,Council Member Roy,and
Council Member Smith
Absent: 1 - Council Member Guajardo
Abstained: 0
