permit-related charges and to clarify the time-period for false alarm fees.
Whereas, the City is seeking to recover the reasonable costs associated with
collecting fee payments by credit card.
Now therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas:
Section 1.The Corpus Christi Code of Ordinance, Chapter 3'/2, Sec. 3%2-2(d) is amended
by adding the following language that is underlined (added) and deleting the language
that is stricken (deleted) as delineated below:
(d) The annual, nonrefundable fee for an alarm permit is fifty dollars
($50.00)for residential and seventy-five dollars($75.00)for commercial.
An additional convenience fee of $1.50 will be added for any fees paid
by credit card.
Section 2. The Corpus Christi Code of Ordinance, Chapter 3 '/2, Sec. 3'A-6 is amended
by adding the following language that is underlined (added) and deleting the language
that is stricken (deleted) as delineated below:
(a) All service fees owed by an applicant must be paid before a permit
may be issued or renewed.
(b) No service fee will be charged within any twelyve-month one-year
permit term period for the first three (3) false alarm notifications.
(c) Except as provided in sections 3%2-7 and 3'/2-22 below, a person
who is required to obtain a permit shall pay a service fee for each false
alarm notification within any one-year permit term
as described in the following service fee schedule:
False Alarms Service Fee
First, second and third Free
Fourth, and fifth $50.00
Sixth, and seventh 75.00

Eighth, and subsequent 100.00
(d) An additional convenience fee of $1 .50 will be added for any fees
paid by credit card.
Section 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of
a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent
of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance be given full force and effect for this purpose.
Section 4. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
Section 5. This ordinance takes effect after official publication.
