Allen DMD Fay Crider DMD Russell Sherman City—CCPD Staff Liaison Berardo Cantu City—Parking Control The meeting was called to order by Darlene Gregory at 5:30 p.m. A motion was made by Mr. Swan and second by Ms. Crider for the approval of minutes from April and May 2017: motion carried unanimously. Darlene offered her assistance to business owners and residents in the downtown area with the online application for SBA disaster loans. She is familiar with the process and would like to help those that were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The SBA has disaster assistance loans available for property damage and economic injury. Some critical businesses qualify for a 30 year note with zero percent interest. Darlene requested suggestions be brought to the next meeting for future revitalization projects. Bob Catalano mentioned North Beach has not gotten the brush and trash picked up from Hurricane Harvey. The trash pile near Surfside Park is enormous. In addition, trash from beach visitors accumulates from Surfside Park to Fajitaville, blowing from the beach to where bollards are placed. This litter eventually blows from the beach to residents' properties that face the beach. His suggestion is to put a fence between these bollards to catch the litter and the city clean up people can just pick up the trash from that location. Darlene will check if there is a litter solution. More trash cans are needed on the beach and the center of the beach. Mr. Catalano also brought up the fact that citizens are not abiding by the no barbequing signs and every agency he has LLI called will not assist with the enforcement of this issue. Mr. Catalano's residence has caught fire four times from airborne burning embers caused by visitors barbequeing and campfires. Capt. Sherman will check with Captain Sanders to see if Code Enforcement should be enforcing this issue. If an ordinance doesn't exist prohibiting barbecuing on the beach, the sign possibly needs to be changed or an ordinance should be prepared for the City Council's review and approval. The lights from North Beach that were put up for Light Up CC have been down since Hurricane Harvey. Darlene will contact AEP for repairs and will find out if the city will absorb the cost of repairs. Mr. Allen asked if sidewalks were covered as a beautification project and suggested palm trees be placed in areas to fill in gaps. Darlene will check with Terry Sweeney to see if he has any suggestions about revitalization projects for downtown. Captain Sherman reviewed the financial report with a balance of$162,938.93. Darlene mentioned $70,000 of this fund balance was allocated for the Light Up Corpus Christi project on Peoples Street. Darlene needs to check with Terry Sweeney on the status of the completion of Phase II of the Chaparral Street project to determine when lighting for Peoples Street can commence. Captain Sherman will produce an updated financial report with the new monies collected for 2017. Darlene will send a press release to Kim Womack for Light up CC, once the North Beach repairs to the installed lighting are complete. Darlene asked the board to think about possibly changing the meeting date and time to facilitate more attendees. Request for Alyssa to inform this board of the Parking Study execution plan for the recommendations made in this study. Darlene asked if parking meters plastic covers in Uptown can be replaced due to lack of visibility of the time clocks and pay by phone information. All of the meters on Leopard at Waco are included. Berardo just replenished his supplies and will start installing them on the meters that need repair. Items to place on the agenda were: Financial report; parking study results and future revitalization project suggestions. Public Comment: No public comments. This meeting was adjourned by Ms. Darlene Gregory at 6:14 p.m.
