landowners of approximately 161.56 acres of land into the territorial
limits of the City of Corpus Christi
WHEREAS, on February 15, 2019 the City received a petition requesting
annexation by area landowners;
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code §43.028 requires the
governing body to hear the petition and the arguments for and against the
annexation and shall grant or refuse the petition as the governing body considers
appropriate after the 5th day but on or before the 30th day after the date the
petition is filed;
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code §43.065 requires the City to direct
its staff to prepare a service plan that provides for the extension of municipal services to
the area to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code §43.063 provides that the City
should conduct two public hearings at which persons interested in the annexation are
given the opportunity to be heard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI THAT:
Section 1. The City Council grants the petition requesting annexation by Elizabeth
Anne Meaney, Bart Braselton, Reagan Brown, Bill Brown and Alyssa Ann Brown of
approximately 161.56 acres of land into the territorial limits of the City of Corpus Christi
attached in Exhibit "A".
Section 2. The City Council directs staff to take the necessary actions to institute
annexation proceedings.
Section 3. The City Council directs the staff to prepare a service plan that provides for
the extension of municipal services to the annexation area.
Section 4. The City Council hereby schedules two public hearings on this annexation
on April 16, 2019 and April 23, 2019 during a regular City Council meeting beginning at
11:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1201 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Section 5. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such
public hearings to be posted on the City's Internet website and published once in a
newspaper having general circulation in the city and in the above-described territory not
more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public
hearings.
Section 6. The provisions of this resolution shall become effective immediately upon
final passage.

TO THE MAYOR OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,TEXAS:
The undersigned owners of the hereinafter described tract of land,which is vacant and without residents,or
on which fewer than three qualified voters reside, hereby petition your honorable Body to extend the present city
limits so as to include as part of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas,the following described territory,to wit:
