land into territorial limits of City of Corpus Christi; directing the City Manager
to prepare a service plan for the extension of municipal services to the
proposed annexation area
WHEREAS, City of Corpus Christi is negotiating with the City of Gregory for
cession of 326 acres to City of Corpus Christi of all annexation rights and police powers
over and in certain tracts of land by mutual agreement;
WHEREAS, state law requires the City to direct its staff to prepare a service
plan that provides for the extension of municipal services to the area to be annexed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council declares its intent to begin the process of annexing the
territory depicted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein, consisting of up
to 326 acres lying adjacent to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas into the territorial limits of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. In accordance with Texas Local Government Code section 43.065,the City
Council directs the City Manager and the planning department to prepare a service plan
that provides for the extension of municipal services to the annexation area depicted to
exhibit "A".
SECTION 3. The provisions of this resolution shall become effective immediately upon
final passage.
