Acting Chairman Don Lewis called the meeting to order,
declared a quorum present and introduced new member Hewitt B.
Fox. Mr. Lewis then introduced Mr. Jimmy Geryk with Cimarron
Engineering Corporation and asked him to address a staff
recommendation to plug a well he had acquired from Oryx Energy
Company. Mr. Geryk said his deficiency consisted of failing to
post a letter of credit to secure the transfer of the well permit
and that he had now contracted with a bank to get a letter of
credit. Mrs. Moss asked when he would be able to comply and Mr.
Geryk replied that he should be able to within a few days . After
further discussion, Mr. Fox motioned to recommend Cimarron
Engineering Corporation be given one month to secure the transfer
of the well permit, Mrs . Moss seconded the motion and it was
unanimously approved. Mr. Lewis then called for nominations for
a Chairman for 1992. Ms. Newsom nominated Mr. Carson, and
Mr. Carson was unanimously elected. He then called for
nominations for Vice Chairman. Ms. Newsom nominated Mr. Fox and
Mr. Fox was unanimously elected.
Mr. Conn then briefed the Committee regarding a failure by
Transwestern Operating Company to post bond to secure the
transfer of a production platform in Corpus Christi Bay State
Tract 49 from Oxy Oil and Gas (formerly Cities Service) and said
this matter would be on the Committee ' s next agenda if not first
resolved. He also briefed the Committee on the current
activities of the Oil and Gas Well Division and the Corpus
Christi Area Oil Spill Control Association.
There being no further business , the meeting was adjourned
at 2 : 15 p.m.
