I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Garza at 12:10 p.m.and a quorum was declared.
II. PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA ITEMS
A. PRESENTATION AND ACTION ITEM
1. AMENDING THE ZONING MAP TO INCLUDE THE NEW UNIFIED
DEVELOPMENT CODE ZONING DISTRICT NAMES
Johnny Perales, Assistant City Manager of Engineering &Development Services, presented the
amendments to the zoning maps. Mr. Perales stated the purpose of the amendments was to include the
updated language from the Unified Development Code. Mr. Perales explained that no property
boundaries were changing. Mr.Perales continued that a complete set of maps would be available in the
City Secretary's Office,Development Services and online.
In response to Council Member Kieschnick's question regarding Cottage Housing District, Mr.
Perales explained that the Cottage Housing Districts were created to provide alternative development
designs and the district would be applied as an overlay. Mr. Perales continued that the proposed
ordinances will be passed by the end of this year.
Mayor Adame called for a motion to open the public hearing for the City Council and a motion
was made, seconded and passed to open the public hearing.
A motion was made by Commissioner Nadkarni and seconded by Commissioner Martinez to
open the Planning Commission public hearing. Motion passed unanimously.
No one came forward in favor or in opposition.
Council Member Martinez called for a motion to close the public hearing for the City Council and
the motion was seconded and passed.

Commissioner Skrobarczyk commented on the proposed ordinances for mixed uses being
beneficial for the City of Corpus Christi and reducing the use of Special Permits. Commissioner
Martinez supported the use of the proposed districts as overlays.
A motion was made to close the Planning Commission public hearing by Commissioner
Skrobarczyk and seconded by Commissioner Martinez. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion to recommend the amendments as presented by staff was made by Vice-Chairman
Huerta and seconded by Commissioner Martinez. Motion passed unanimously.
HI. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Tamez and seconded by Commissioner
Skrobarczyk. Motion passed unanimously and meeting was adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
