The motion passed unanimously. PLATS Continued Plats Miguel Saldana read plat agenda items "a, b, d, e, and f' (shown below) into record and stated the applicants' representatives were requesting a continuance of two weeks and Staff concurred. 1. Motion made by Vice-Chairman Garza and seconded by Commissioner Skrobarczyk to approve item c. The motion passed unanimously with Commissioner Salazar abstaining and Commissioner Pulsey being absent. Motion by Vice-Chairman Garza and seconded by Commissioner Zamora to approve. The motion passed unanimously with Commissioner Pulsey being absent. Motion by Commissioner Martinez and seconded by Commissioner Skrobarcyzk to recommend a continuance as requested. Motion passed unanimously with Commissioner Pulsey being absent. Time Extensions Miguel Saldana read plat agenda item"a"(shown below)into record and stated the applicant's representative was requesting a six-month time extension and Staff concurred as this was their first time extension request. a. 0305044-NP25 Preston Park Addition,Block 1,Lot 1 (Final—4.97 Acres) Located south of Leopard Street between Southern Minerals Road and Rhew Road. Motion made by Commissioner Braselton and seconded by Commissioner Skrobarczyk to recommend a six-month time extension. Motion passed unanimously with Commissioner Pulsey being absent. ZONING 1. New Zoning 4.0 • Minutes-Planning Commission Meeting • September 28,2005 Page 5 a. 0905-06 Porto Villageo,LLC: "AT"Apartment-Tourist District to an "AT"Apartment-Tourist District with a"PUD-2"Planned Unit Development Being 4.45 acres out of Lots 38 and 39 on Mustang Island Section 2,located west of State Highway 361 and bordering the Gulf of Mexico on the east boundary. Applicant has withdrawn rezoning request. b. 0905-07 City of Corpus Christi: "A-2"Apartment House District to an "R-1C"One-family Dwelling District Morris and Mitchell Subdivision; 36.22 feet east of Lot 4,Block 4,and located east of Brownlee Boulevard and west of 12t Street. Request: To allow for replacement housing on a conforming lot area through the CDBG program. Excerpts from Zoning Report Legal Description/Location: Morris and Mitchell Subdivision, 36.22 feet east of Lot 4, Block 4, and located east of Brownlee Boulevard and west of 12th Street. Purpose of Request: To allow for replacement housing on a conforming lot area through the CDBG program Area Development Plan: Westside- The Westside Area Development Plan (ADP)future land use map recommends low-density residential for the subject property. Department Comments: The requested change of zoning accomplishes the goal of the Westside ADP in converting the "A-2"District area to a single-family district. Staff Recommendation: Approval of the "R-1 C"One family Dwelling District with a Special Permit allowing for the construction of one(1)single-family residence subject to a site plan and(5) conditions: Ms. Goode-Macon provided graphics of the subject property and the surrounding area. The zoning report and tape recording are on file. This is a request for a "R-1C" One-family Dwelling District with a Special Permit for allowance of a lot reduction through the CDBG Program and helps maintain the single family dwelling consistency for this area. • • 'NW Minutes-Planning Commission Meeting September 28,2005 Page 6 Chairman Stone opened up the public hearing. Leo Valdez, P representative of Neighborhood Services spoke on behalf of this P g rezoning. In answer to Commissioner's Skrobarczyk's question,we will take the surrounding larger lots in the neighborhood on a case by case basis. Commissioner's Garza and and Zamora both stated that they were in favor of the zoning and felt it was good for the smaller homes in the neighborhood. DIRECTOR'S REPORT A. FUTURE SCHEDULED MEETINGS Faryce Goode-Macon reminded Commissioners of the October 5th Planning Commission meeting that will start at 4 p.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. Future possible dates were discussed for a workshop meeting to be held the first two weeks of November with the possible date of November 9, 2005 beginning at 12 noon. Commissioners felt it was a good date and suggested verifying with Michael Gunning and the scheduled speaker to see if that date could be accommodated. B. EXCUSED ABSENCES Commissioner Skrobarczyk requested an excused absence from the September 7, 2005 Planning Commission meeting due to being out of town on business. C. OTHER MATTERS ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:55 p.m. Motion made by Commissioner Salazar and seconded by Vice-Chairman Garza.
