Notes: Lauren Morgan of Time Warner Cable spoke and offered public service announcement spots re:
Pride. All shots will have a :20 second tagable line at that end that could promote special events. Spots
would be very similar to the Flint Hills"Student of the Month"spots. Marsha Hardemna of Delta 5igma
Theta Sorority, Inc asked the Pride Team for marketing and outreach support for the upcoming_Martin
Luther King Jr HolidAY Celebration.

Notes: Angela Rowe was formally introduced as the new Clean Citv/Pride Coordinator. M. Mcleod-Sawyer
asked for dated budgets regarding Pride R Garza and A.Rowe informed the group of the Cities of Service

■ Adopt a Park Program Packet Presentation
Notes: Stacie Talbert of Parks &Recreation Department advised the grog2 of additional needs to market the
Adapt A Park program in terms of needing help identifying other businesses, sororities or pta associations that
would adolpt Parks close to their schools or locations. M. Mcleod-Sawyer advised that she would like to
recognize these groups on the pridece.com website All future events will have packets ready for anyone
wishing to partigiRate. Downtown Management District would also be a crucial partner in the Ado t a Park
marketing. S. Talbert ho es that eventually this could be an"Adopt a Rec" center ro'ect where individuals
can teach folklorico or teach kid's how to play cbess.
a City's Recycling Program Presentation
Notes: Lawrence Mikolajck advised that the City's recycling program enhancements, including Recce
Bank would be on the January 19 agenda Paul Bass, Solid Waste Superintendent handed out sheets that
showed projected savings(attached). Mgrgie Rose, Assistant City Manager, interiected and wanted to ensure
that City Council had received the same information. The Advisory Committee on Community Pride voted to
craft a resolution to City Council about keeping said enhancements (attached). J. Chrobocinski motioned,2"tl
by M. Peters.
■ Xmas Tree Recycling
Notes: URcorning events included Jan 9 &Jan 16 at various locations(attached). A. Rowe advised that there
may be a need for volunteers to hand all recyclers an Afghan Pine Seedling in return for their tree.
■ Christmas Card Recycling
Notes: An arts &crafts event would be held for Christmas cards collected during the month of Januaryat
Barnes &Noble Bookstore. Volunteers would be needed for this as well.
■ Involvement with Martin Luther King,Jr March&YWCA Racial Justice Events
Motes: A.Rowe asked for support in including the PRIDE logo on all MLK activities in order to lay
additional merit to the Cities of Service grant.
■ Jan 23,Day of Service Event&Planning Activities
Notes: After an overview of the upcoming Day of Service cvmt,_M. Mcleod-Sawyer gnpointed all men to be
a part of the organizing committee. M. McLeod-Sawyer made the motion seconded by M. Peters.
■ Advisory Committee Vacancy&Process for Filling
Notes: The Committee was urged to recruit within their circles for filling the current vacancy_.
■ Marketing&Policy Subcommittee Updates
Notes: Clarification was made on the subcommittees. The marketiniz subcommittee will be M.Peters P.
Ramirez, W. Douglas and S.Richards. A. Rowe advised the she and Ellen Fehrenkamp,the creator of Corpus
Gus were also working on a strategic marketing plan. The Governmental Policy Subcommittee is K.
Davidson(Chair) L Chrobocinski,M. Minutaglio and one of the Rvans.
