III. Public Comment :Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your
comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information, recite an existing policy in response to
the inquiry,or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date.
Notes: Suzi Williams with the Navy League introduced the Pride Board to Commander Gaucher of the
USS City of Corpus Christi submarine. Recently they received the`Battle of Efficiency" award. Commander
Gaucher hopes to secure a Corpus Christi flag so that the sub can fly it after various achievements or when pub
into ports. The USS City of Carpus Christi hoMMorts in Guam since 2002,was narned in the early. 80's throu _
the endorsements of Senator John Tower. Commander Gaucher wrote Mayor Adame a letter asking for a city visit
so that he could take pride back to the ship.
IV. Business for Discussion with Possible Action
• Solidify Adopt a Park location-Ryan G: Pride Board voted on 1.McCaugLm Park, 2. Oleander
Point, or 3. Old City Hall Park or the Friendship Median. A.Rowe to check availabilit y of all.
• Clean City Logo Approval- Clean CityCommittee wished to adopt logo similar to Pride, using
"CLEAN"instead of`PRIDE" Phillip made motion.Mark 2 1d.
• Parincrship-Firestone/lee Rays Tire Clean up-May 7-Tracey/Angeii-Tri City Challenge with
Laredo,McAllen&Corpus Christi. Kev messa es: Target commercial tire scrap yendors. Ti hg ten
control an haulers. Get location &flyer for event.

City Wide efforts: Uptown Neighborhood initiative-May 22-Darlene Gregory:IN Group seeking
Pride's assistance for event. Area of concentration is Port to Tancahua,Li an Antelope.

* Recommendation for Pride vacancy: Ma or Joe recommending Elisa Macias with the CC Hooks fo
replacement. Will go to Council for approval on 5111/10.
