III. Public Comment Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your
comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information, recite an existing policy in response to
the inquiry, or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date.
IV. Business for Discussion and Possible Action
* Goal Setting- Monica McLeod Sawyer broke down goals and assigned Board members to each core
area of concentration: Customer Service, Shopping Local, PRIDE. Two elements under each are
accountability and involvement with short term goals or wins attached to both. A media conference
will be planned for all successes.
Recycling Updates- Solid Waste & Angela Rowe broke down the numbers for first week's pickup
1/31/11- 2/4/11. The City increased recyclables by 500 % increase with a 5% residual rate. Team
was briefed on ordinance set out times (5:30- 7:30 am and in by midnight).
• Adopt A Park Updates- Ryan Griffith: Gazebo needs to be painted! Staff (Clint Wyatt) looking for
paint. Schedule possible work days? - TABELED
• Buc Days Updates- R an Griffith & Oscar Carmona- TABELED
• Green & Clean Award Updates- Stacy Richards reminded group of Feb 23, 2011 photo op with
Christus Spohn Health Systems- Shoreline.
• Bring Your Own Bag Incentive Program (BYOB)_ Motion carried. S. Richards advised that more
research and approval by Mayor Adame would be next.

Board Vacancy _& City CCUpdate- Angela Rowe to continue to advertise opening and call all
candidates currently in pool.
Update on Upcoming Events- Angela Rowe (February 5, Xmas Card Recycling events, Texas A &M -CC
