111. Public Comment: Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your
comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information, recite an existing policy in
response to the inquiry, or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date. NONE
IV. Business for Discussion and Possible Action:
o Update on Picky Pete Programs- Dusty Durrill - Mr. Durrill unavailable, but eager to address PRIDE at laer
days. PRIDE would like to know which schools Picky Pete is in. S. Schade to set up meeting and follow up
with Pickv Pete camoaiRn as Dart or PRIDE outreach.
o Update on Plastic Bag Project A. Gonzalez advised that City Staff would be addressing City Council with
overview of education campaign, which will include plastic bags on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. PRIDE
encouraged to attend City Council . PRIDE hopes to secure dollards to give bags away at City events,
namely. Conauer the Coast and Beach to Bay.
o Update on Hillcrest Clean Up A. Gonzalez advised that 25 volunteers from Yorkhouse, CCPD, CCFD painted
Williams Park. S. Schade, P. Ramirez, C. Hernandes, T. Reyes and S. Richards attended. Next area for
Operation Proud Partnership is to be around City Hall area.
o Review of PRIDE Projects 2009 - current: All clean up events now fall under Jurisdiction of Clean City Advisory
Committee. PRIDE will continue to solicit volunteers for all events. City events, activities and awards will
continue to be posted on City PRIDE facebook and twitter accounts.
o Updates on Subcommittees:
■ Education- P. Ramirez, S. Schade and T. Reyes to meet with Chris Adler and Nelda Martinez who are
both contending for Mayoral seat next session to determine next steps of PRIDE.
■ Recognition /Accountability - PRIDE team advised to be on the lookout for stellar properties to
receive this award. Next award will be CitRo. Date & time will be sent to PRIDE.
V. Identify agenda items to be placed on next agenda: Municipal Court issues and fines, board retreat date,
PRIDE vacancy.
