Call to Order Time: @ 17:25 II. Roll Call of Members Other City Staff present: III. Approve Minutes & Absences of May 21, 2012 Meeting o Motion S. Richards o 2nd Motion T. Reyes IV. Public Comment: Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding and discussing your comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual information, recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry, or advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an agenda at a later date. S. Schade informed PRIDE that she will be coordinating the kid's section of ArtWalk at Retama Park, which is held the first weekend of every month as part of Corpus Christi First! Weekend. V. Business for Discussion and Possible Action: o Update on Plastic Bag Project: Next Plastic Bag Committee Meeting will be held on Jul 9 2012 at the Corpus Christi Rec cry. Intent is to show retailers and all committee members how many bales our processor is sitting on, up to 180 -200 tons. o Update on Operation Proud Partnership: Currently in Flour Bluff- which will be divided into four sections. SWO will conduct complimentary brush and bulky collection a week prior to next sweep as with all Operation Proud Partnership focus areas. Flyer attached. Flyer attached. o Updates on Subcommittees: ■ Education: Moving forward with asking outside people (possible Pride Applicants) and high school students to form the Education Sub -Comm A. Get the Pride Club in Action: S.Schade moving forward with PRIDE subcommittees ■ Marketing /Public Outreach: Tshirts are on order. ■ Recognition /Accountability: Scott Electric next Green & Clean winner (August 2012) Sonic on Saratoga next winner. PRIDE is reminded to email potential Green & Clean candidates to A. Rowe or S. Richards. ■ Fundraising: Meetings held with Mayoral candidates Nelda Martinez and Chris Adler. P. Ramirez still pursuing potential funding streams. o Brief on Cities of Service Grant: PRIDE submitted under Assistant City Manager Margie Rose for the grant in 2010. Resubmission calls for Mayor to be in office at time of submittal. Unfortunately, our voting structure falls outside of this mandated timeline. o Update on Upcoming Events o Retreat Dates: P. Ramirez and A. Rowe to research dates- aiming for late September. VI. Identify agenda items to be placed on next agenda: Open Meetings Act training, facebook discussions, retreat results VII. Next Meeting: July 30, 2012 VIII. Adjourn:
