IV. Public Comment: Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the committee from responding
and discussing your comments at length. The law only authorizes members to make a statement of factual
information, recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry, or advise the citizen that this subject will be
placed on an agenda at a later date.: None
V. Business for Discussion and Possible Action:
o Marketing Plan: Promote 826- CITY (2489). O. Carmona to work with media company on 3 -4
spots promoting use of City call center number. K. Womack suggested PRIDE submitting proposal
maybe on birth to end cycle of plastic bottle or the like.
o Summary of Retreat- see attached from Chair S. Schade
o Guest Speaker - Chad Magill: Chair S. Schade met with Councilman Chad Magill on his ideas for
PRIDE. He suggested that we follow the lead of Mayor Martinez and encouraged PRIDE to align
ourselves with the Downtown Management District (DMD), who is in their petition year.
Councilman Magill also encouraged PRIDE to attend DMD meetings (2 Thursday of the month
at IBC Bank) and to work closely with other special interest groups like Destination Bayfront, SEA,
North Beach Task Force and Uptown Neighborhood Initiative
o December Meeting Date: Will be moved to December 17, 2012 due to New Year's Eve
VI. Identify agenda items to be placed on next agenda
o Outline Clean City /Keep it Clean Campaigns
o T. Reyes to meet with A. Leal to discuss marketing City Call Center Number.
o Board Vacancies
