Bill Hoelscher X 8. Vacant 9. Brittney Richerson X 10. Belinda Rocha X 11. Laurie Turner X Other City Staff present: Celina Pulcher III. Public Comment: No public comment at this time IV. Approval of Minutes: Minutes from June 27, 2014 Brittney Richerson made the motion to approve, Christina Hernandez seconded, minutes were approved as written V. Business for Discussion and Possible Action: A. Committee Vacancies and reappointments - Frank explained that he would not be seeking reappointment. Belinda Rocha and Paul Gottemoller are also up for reappointment. Celina explained that there are some applicants available for appointment for the vacancies. B. Anti-Litter Ordinance Activities- Lawrence/Celina / Brittney Celina discussed going out to the community to promote Stop the Wrath and asked that the committee assist by promoting on their facebook pages as well. She also reported that the Stop the Wrath would soon be transforming into the Leave It Better Than You Found It campaign. With that, there have been several meetings to bring in community pledge partners, including meetings with Walmart, CCIA, Stripes and RTA. All have been favorable and BucketWorks is working on putting signage in with the various partners. PRIDE Meeting Minutes July 25,2014 In addition, Celina explained she is working on signing up city employees to take the Pledge to Leave It Better. She will start going to various departments and setting up an area inside the atrium of City Hall. In September, the Community will be asked to take their own pledge to leave it better. C. The Mayor's Picky Pete Press Conference Update—Christina/Celina Christina and Celina discussed the meeting they had with the Mayor about the Picky Pete Press Conference being held at Windsor Park Elementary on August 27, at 10am. The Mayor outlined who she would like to have speak including herself, Dr. Kimberly Bissell, Bob Copes, Lawrence Mikolajczyk and Scott Elliff and Sarah Stevens with Whataburger. She would also like to see some students from the school be available. We will also be inviting the Chief of Police, the PALS representative, the CCISD Board, and various other representatives. They explained they were still working out the details of the event including press releases and invitations. The next meeting with the Mayor would be held August 20th to iron out last minute details. The Committee was encouraged to put the event on their calendars to be in attendance. D. The Mayor's Agnes-Laredo Corridor Block Walk—Celina Celina explained that the Mayor is looking to do a follow-up Block Walk to last year's event. The date is September 25th from 9-11am. The Mayor would like to see different community members available to walk the area. There will be more details to come as the date gets closer. E. Report from Community Outreach Subcommittee—Britney Britney gave a synopsis of items she has been working on. She has just started to post to the Facebook page and it has been getting lots of views. She nor Celina have had any luck trying to get the login information to the Committee Twitter page and may have to look at starting a new one. She is looking for ideas on what to post on social media and two events were mentioned, Glass Recycling on September 13th from 9-3pm and the BayJammin Surfing Cinema events on two Fridays, August 22 and 29th. They will be showing the documentary— Bag It that discusses plastic bagging. F. Discussion of social media outreach Brittney mentioned again that if the committee had anything to post,just to let her know. G. Identify Agenda Items for September The merging of Green & Clean Award and the Beautify Corpus Christi Award Subcommittee updates IV. Meeting Adjourned: Paul Gottemoller made motion to adjourn, Belinda Rocha seconded. Meeting adjourned at 4:44pm
