Meeting was called to order by MMS at 17.34.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Dusty Dur64i, local business man,spoke of the"Picky Pete"a litter training program
for elementary school students. Wrlstbands are give to students as incetives. The program is currently
in place at Los Encinos, Meadowbrook and Montclair Elementary schools. The program is fashioned
after similar clean city programs in Guanahuto and San Miguel de Allende.
MMS commented that we did include the pickupschool.org website on the Pride website. R.Griffith
commented that he would like the committee to be updated on this project and Initiate discussion in
the future in how Pride can help this cause.
UPDATE ON CITY STAFFING: M.Rose advised that the Assistant to the Assistant City Manager on
Community Pride/Clean City Coordinator closed o 10/23/09. Interviews by both a community panel and
internal panel would conducted by week's end and a sole finalist would be named by the end of the
month.
J. Chrobocinski and M. Mcleod Sawyer both agreed to serve on the community panel along with a
representative from Neighborhood Services for the internal panel
CAMPAIGN KICK OFF: A comprehensive over view was given in regards to the Corpus Christi Clean
Sweep by E.Gottsch. K. Davidson advised that his group would not be at McCAughn,but would start at
Bill Witt at lam. TxDot delivered a"letter of no objection"to A. Rowe and W. Douglas for Corpus Christi
Clean Sweep
The committee discussed the use of"Corpus Gus" in commemorative posters for future events and as
giveaways.
Stacie Talbert, Parks&Recreation Assistant Director gave a brief description of the P&R's deferred
maintenance list and suggested Its use for future clean sweep events.
Contention upon a free disposal day at the Citizen's Collection Center,the next Clean Sweep event will
occur on February 27,2010.

ADDITIONAL SUBCOMMITTEES: Subcommittees were established as the following:
• Social(Electronic) Media Subcommittee(Twitter, Flicker,Youtube, Facebook,wordpress)
• Events/marketing
• Media Relations
• Governmental/Policy Relations(R.Garza advised that bylaws should be drafted by this
subcommittee.)

CORPUS GUS: R.Garza advised that usage of Corpus Gus will require Council Action. A contract will be
drafted between Ellen Fahrenkamp and the City of Corpus Christi. in the Interim, Corpus Gus can be
used on a voluntary basis.
ADOPT A HIGHWAY: Medians along a sparse area of Saratoga Blvd.was proposed to the group to
adopt. W. Douglas opened discussion that the area was not very well traveled and would not offer the
highest visibility for the group. M. Mcleod Sawyer will be in contact with TxDot for other areas of
interest for the Pride Board.
