APPROVAL
chairman Pedrotti called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.
Emerson Harris moved to accept minutes as written. W. L. Bates
seconded the motion.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
A. Passenger Facility Charges (PFC)- Received approval of the city
Manager to proceed with the program. City Attorney is preparing the
ordinance needed to proceed with PFC collections. Director reviewing
the five year plan to present to Committee and City Council for
approval .
B. Construction Projects Status- The General Aviation Apron
construction is in the next to last phase of project.
Wilson/Kullman & Nyfler Architects delivered the final version of the
preliminary plans . City staff is reviewing the plans before they are
sent to print.
The Asbestos report has been received. Further comments are
forthcoming after the Director has had a chance to analyze information
contained in the report. At a glance, no serious or dangerous
problems were found.
C. Lease renewals & RFP ' s - Closed bid packages were received from
several rental car agencies today. Bids will be tabulated by the
department and results given the following week.
D. Final Report on Terminal Reconstruction - Deferred until later
meeting.
OTHER CONNEWS:
Bonnie Allin informed the committee of the funds FAA will be supplying
for security fence on perimeter road and the access control system,
drainage project on the airfield, extension of the General, Aviation
Apron, fillet at intersection of taxiway' s "B" and "K", and the
rehabilitation of pavement on taxiway' s.
TENANT COHNEWS Roy Mayo from southwest Airlines gave committee
a response to the inquiry about direct service from Corpus Christi to
Austin and Phoenix. John Gravel of Hedrick Beechcraft told committee
their fuel farm has been approved and construciton will be in progress
soon. He also explained about the rehabilitation program for military
and commercial aircraft.
ACTION ITEMS
A. The committee recommended City Council approval to proceed with
roof construction and to acquire additional funds to undertake
project.
B. Sylvia Gulley moved to extend for one year the lease with Royal
in-Elight , Catering -due to terminal reconstruction plans. Emerson
Harris seconded the motion. Motion carried.
CX*UCETrEE BUSINESS:
Dan Pedrotti gave a brief update on the Entrance Road project.
Emerson Harris gave a report on the trip to Harlingen Airport and will
provide a written report to committee members at a later date. Bert
Beecroft met with the City Manager regarding the Entrance Road
Project. City Manager gave his approval and told Mr. Beecroft to
proceed with plans . The City Manager is advising the City Council on
this project by memo. The entities contacted by the Committee members
have expressed interest in participating.
