ATTENDANCE REVIEW: The Attendance record was reviewed. All members are in good standing.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Mr. Beynon apologized that the monthly activity report was not prepared.
Due to a shortage of office staff, data was not available. Another contributing factor is the fact
that this Committee meets on the Ist Thursday of each month, which does not give staff
sufficient time to compile the data from the previous month.
National Pet Week is May 6th through the 11th.
Mr. Beynon provided an update on the rabies outbreak in nearby counties.
CONTINUING BUSINESS: - Dr. Sisley reported that the recommended ordinance amendments should
be on Council agenda within the next few weeks. She presented the Committee with a proposed
fee schedule for Animal Control Commercial Permits. She asked the Committee's approval to
amend the ordinance to reflect the proposed fee schedule. Currently, all commercial permits are
$15.00, regardless of the type of permit or the type of establishment. The proposed schedule
would differentiate according to the size of the establishments and the type of service provided.
A stipulation would be included that an operation which provides 2 or more different types of
services will be charged only one fee, with the higher permit fee applying.
OI -- Mr. reener ye , r. Hughes seconded, to recommend to City Council that the
Proposed fee schedule be approved, and added to the City Ordinance. Motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: Dr. Sisley reported that 35 small animal traps were ordered to replenish Animal
Control's traps for rental to citizens.
Dr. Meadows introduced and welcomed Ms. Pat Dillon. She stated that although her organization
had not asked for representation on this Committee, she wanted to attend a meeting to see if
they should consider it.
Dr. Sisley presented the members with a memo from the City Secretary's office stating the
change on the 6-year restriction for appointments to City board/commission/committee.
Dr. Sisley asked that a meeting date change be considered due to a conflict in her schedule.
MOTION: Mr. Greenberg moved, Mrs. Sweeney seconded, to change the meeting date to the 2nd
Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. on a tentative basis. Motion passed unanimous!y._
There being no further business to conduct, Dr. Meadows adjourned the meeting at 2:23 p. .
