Sul2ervisor's Report: Jeff Beynon reported that the number of repeat calls is diminishing
which may be due to better office efficiently. Due to rain, wild animals are staying in their
habitats. Possums will increase due to gardening season. Citation revenue is down due to
automation transition at City Hall (behind on entering revenues into the new system). Nneces
County transferred a large number of bite cases. Bite cases in the city are up. National Pet
Week will be May 2-8.
Rabies Report: Given by Ramon Herrera, County Animal Control Supervisor, during the
t meeting.
New Business.- Discussed a letter from Jennifer Farley regarding alleged cruelty to an animal
by having it on a chain. Mrs. Farley wants to change the city ordinance to more strictly
enforce this cruelty issue. This would be unenforceable, as is the current leash restraint
required in the city. It was moved to respond to Mrs. Farley explaining the issues. Nothing
has been communicated on the proposed new City Animal Control Facility.
