HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Animal Care Advisory Committee - 04/13/2000 Minutes CITY ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District Administration Conference Room, 1702 Horne Road April 13, 2000 Members resent: Dr. Steve Lee, Denny Bales, Ben McDonald, Ada Goodman Members Absent: Drew Reining Staff Present: Dr. Nina M. Sisley, Roger Barker, Jeff Beynon Guests: Judi Sisson Call to r: Dr. Steve Lee called the meeting to order at 12:33 p.m. The minutes for February 10`h and March 9`h meetings were approved as written. Attendance Review:, Dr. Sisley went over the attendance sheet with the committee. The board excused Dr. Lee, Ben McDonald and Ada Goodin 's March absences. Supervisor's Report: Jeff Beynon gave the March report. Jeff indicated that the numbers are starting to climb due to nice weather we are experiencing. Distemper dogs from owned animals maybe due to'a light winter. Donations are going up and adoptions and redemptions remain the same. Jeff indicated that they are seeing a lot of baby opossums and 3 big pigs were adopted. Rabies Rep2rt. Given by Jeff Beynon. There were 7 positive cases reported in arch, all in bats. Three cases were reported from ebb County. Jeff indicated to the board that now is a good time to be on the lookout for bats. New si es : Ben McDonald mentioned that his term will be expiring on May 31, 2000. He informed a board members that he will not be seeking reappointment. Dr. Sisley informed the board members that AnimalNector Control are on the City's Bond Proposal for a new facility along with a new roof for the Health Department. Dr. Sisley mentioned to the board members that there will be open community meetings regarding the City's Bond Package. The next meetings will be held on April 27, 2000 at Grant Middle School, May 17, 2000 at Flour luff High School and May 27, 2000 at the Bayfront Auditorium.
