Sisley,Jeff Beynon Staff Absent: Roger Barker Guests: Susan Thiem, Mike Hughes r� Call to Order: Dr. Steve Lee called the meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. The minutes for May 11, 2000 were approved as written. t Attendance Review: Dr. Sisley went over the attendance sheet with the committee. The board excused the absence of Barbara Airheart. Su ervisor's a ort: Jeff Beynon gave the May report. Jeff indicated the number of bite cases is down this month. He also mentioned that we are continuing to see a lot of opossums around the city. Jeff mentioned that he did not have the citation revenue figures for this month but will be getting them today or tomorrow. The number of euthanized animals is slightly over last month's figures. u; Rabies Report: Given by Ramon Herrera. There were no cases reported in the month of May. New Business: A motion was made to recommend that Dr. Steve Lee be moved from the At- large position on the committee to the Veterinary position. The motion was seconded and approved. A second motion was made to recommend that Susan Thiem and Judi Sisson for the two vacant At-Large positions. The motion was seconded and approved. Audience Participation: Mike Hughes, D.V.M., proposed the idea of a one tag licensing system to the committee members and Health Department staff. Dr. Hughes believes that this system will : greatly improve billing/fees. He also had a concern regarding the fees being assessed for dead animal pickups at the veterinary clinics. Dr. Hughes will draft a proposal of this one tag billing system and send it to the Health Department for review before it is sent to the Veterinary Association. Dr. Hughes also brought up his concern regarding the tick problem at the Animal Control Facility. Jeff Beynon informed Dr. Hughes that they were addressing the tick problem as they were now using preventative tick collars. By using these collars they have seen dramatic results in the control of fleas.
