Called to Order: Kendal Keyes, Co-Chairperson, 12:35pm
1. Approval of July 9th, 2004
Minutes of June 10th was approved with the following amendment.
Ms. Thiem stated that under the notation for "Next Meeting"—reminder to Committee; August
regular meeting cancelled should read, no August Meeting. There can be a special meeting
called but traditionally we do not meet in August.
Ms Thiem said she had real issues with Ms. DunIap's request for open records, as a member of
ACAC, whereas she, Ms. Dunlap had stated at the meeting that she did so as a private citizen.
She felt this statement was false. The request to change or amend the statement from Ms.
Dunlap was moved under new business as per acting chair.
Ms. Keye's made a motion to approve the minutes with the change in the August reference.
Dr Buckley makes a second, all were in favor.

2. Board Business
Citv Ordinance Revisions
Dr. Silver's requested that no conceptual changes be made. More discussion followed.
Ms. eye's requested clarification regarding breeding of rabbits and number of permits sold.
Ms. Stunz was unavailable to answer question.
Ms. Hundley discussed the following changes in the Ordinance draft as of 718104
• Under Section 6-23 (i) Owner to pay costs. The stipulated costs referred to here is
for rabies testing. The fee for this service of preparing the head of the animal for
testing at Austin changed to $15.00, from$8.00. This provision has been amended
and will go before City Council. Preparation of head for shipment by Animal Care,
$75.00 or if prepared by veterinarian, $45.00.
• pg. 27 section -30, (f) the second half of that phrase, beginning on the third line at
end, the word"donates" has been added.
Motion by Ms. eye's to delete breeder and the permit fee of$200. Delete permit fee, and
rabbits breeding for sale. Dr. Watson and Dr. Buckley second, the motion passed.
Motion by Ms. Keye's to approve the ordinances as is with changes made to Section 6- 3 (I)
the fees,, and changes, in formatting and Iealities. Dr Watson seconds, the motion passed.
Dr. Silver's Update
Ms. Stunz was not present. Dr Silvers asked if Mr. Hernandez could give a facility update.
Update included information on landscaping, and current open positions.

Information on Neighborhood Initiative Program, Postal Service complaints and sweeps discussed.

No facility update due to Ms. Stunz absence.

Ms. Thiern reiterates the importance of the committee's commitment to work together with one
another and to support and guide Animal Care. Discussion followed.
Public Comment
Ms. Quinones addressed her right and that of others to file an open records request.
A discussion followed.
Ms. Sisson thanked the committee for striking the breeders permit and for changing the
wording on breeder until we can redefine it.
Ms. Miller inquired as to the revisions regarding the selling of animals on street comers.

Ms. Keye's made the motion to adjourn, Mr. Reynolds 2nd the motion, all were in favor.
Meeting ended at 1:35 pm.
