ANIMA CAR ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Minutes October 11, 2004
Present:Members Kendall Keyes, Sherry Dunlap, Susan'Thiern, Sharon Massad,
Dr. William Watson and Dr. John Buckley
Absent:Members Paul Reynolds
Staff Present: Cherrie Stunz, Angel Hernandez, Annette Rodriguez and Elizabeth Hundley
Staff Absent: none
Guests: Becky Jones, Cheryl Qu0iones, Ken Coker, lennffer Milier, Andrea Zapata, Deana Haskins

Called to Order: Kendal Keyes, Co-Chairperson, 12:30pm

Ms. Dunlap made a motion to approve the minutes with an e et, Ms. s' 2"d the motion,
voted in favor with 2 abstentions, Motion passed. (Statement of amendment by Ms. Dunlap
below)

Ms. Keyes made a motion to approve Ms le 's absence. Dr. Watson 2"d the motion, 4 voted in favor
with 2 abstentions.
. Tau be made a statement for Ms. Stunz, stating the existence of an error in the Agenda. The 11
reading of the Ordinances on October `"was listed under New Business instead of under Unfinished
Business.
Dunlap a e a motion to amend the minutes from last month to include Ms. Stunz statement
regarding euthanasia procedures for imminent threat fro hurricane, MS. eyes' 2"d the motion;
voted In favor, with 2 abstentions, Motion passed.
Dunlap made further motions to amend the meeting notes, one of these included the corrective
action taken by Officer Luna to safeguard the transport of sped cans in the facility. The other motion
was the orientation of communi ty service workers upon entering the facility to do community service
work. Ms. Keyes' 21nd the motion. 3 were in favor and 1 was not. There were 2 abstentions. Motion
passed.
Ms. Hundley asked the Chair to open the forum for additional issues of discussion. There were none.

Ms. Keyes'made a motion to approve the minutes. Dr. Buckley 21d'the motion, all were favor and the
motion passed.
4. Report of Staff
Mr. Hernandez introduced AO Robert Smith, the new Bite Case/Cruelty Investigator. ACO Smith has
one an excellent job, taking a lot of initiative in his new position, and prior to then w position as an
ACO IL He works closely with Municipal Court and County Court in the prosecution of cruelty cases.
ACO Smith acknowledged everyone and thanked them for the warm welcome to the position.

The first reading of the Ordinances will be on October 26, 2004
