Ms.Massad made a motion to approve the minutes. Mr. Reynolds 211d the motion, all were in favor.

Chameleon triin
Ms.Stunz announced the successful training of staff to the C ha eleon database. ACS now has
Kennel Cards with pictures that enabling staff to see not only where the animal got picked up, but
a photograph of the animal.
Ms. Jayi gave some insight into the future with Chameleon, ACS can now have pictures of animals
picked up from around the city published on the World Wide Web (Internet). The address is
www,PetHar or.cor°i; Owners who have lost their pet can visit this website prior visiting the facility.
Pictures of adoptable animals will also be published on this website. With the training on
Chameleon Ms. Jaji said the facility is now able to complete its final leg for automation of most of
the facility's administrative processes. The facility is now able to generate transaction receipts,
vouchers and pet licIenses from the computer. This giant stride cuts down manual writing,

backlog awaiting data entry, etc, gist pain (from too much writing) etc. The list of what will be
accomplished rows daily. She also said the kind of functionality we want® is now possible with
this system and asked for the support of the committee to help the facility and staff get the
continual training needed to function at the level of proficiency that moves the City forward. She

newsletters can he sent out, and reports can be designed to suitspecific purposes.

do. ACS will keep the committee informed about our processes with a hope of helping us
advocate for these things in our budget.
Mr. Hernandez has had discussions with the police department inquiring into the possibility of
installing computers in the field trucks. ,ACS is considering a pilot program with a refurbished
laptop that was slated for disposal by another department.
® Old Business
Ms.Theim informed the Committee that City Council had taken no action to the recommendation
concerning breeders permit. Ms. Hundley said the issue would o to an initiative petition.
5 New Business
Ms.Thelm informed the committee that Ms. Dunlap was no longer a member of the committee
and this has created a vacancy, however, there will be no appointments until after the City
Council election.
About a year ago, Ms. Mossod said Ms. Barbara Beynon presented the committee with information
on rabies vaccinations for Nueces County and other surrounding areas. It was agreed that the
City might want the option of a 3-year vaccine.
Ms. Massad made a motion, 2nd by Dr.Watson to reconsider the recommendation of the -year
vaccine. All were in favor and the motion passed.

Ms. Dunlap discussed the issue of breeder's permits.
Ms. Veronica Lankford addressed her concerns regarding two dos at 4001 Little .John.
Ms. Stunz offered to speak with Ms. Lankford about this after the meeting.

Based on CDC guidelines, the Department of
