Members Present: Dr William Watson, Sharon Massad, Bill Schroeder, Paul Reynolds and Dr john Buckle

1. Call to Order: Dr.Watson, Chairman, 12:30pm
2. Approval of June 21",2007 Minutes
Mr. Schroeder made a motion to approve the minutes for June 2007, Dr. Buckley 2nd the motion and all were in favor,
3. Approval of Absences for June 212t,2007
Dr. Buckley made a motion to approve the Ms. Massad's absence, Mr. Schroeder 2^d the motion and all were in favor, motion
passed.
4. Zoonosis Report
The Zoonosis Report of June was attached for viewing, Dr. Buckley stated that the primary issue was bats. Ms. Copeland added
that we had a bat that was unable to test due to decomposure. Ms. Copeland also added that they were looking into a closer
location to send the specimens off for testing.
. Staff Report
Ms. Copeland presented to the committee that the fees within Animal Care would be changing; however these changes have not
been presented to City Council yet. The fees for dogs/puppies will be$68.00 and
Kittens/cats will be$62.00. This will also include the micro-chip for the animal. Ms.Copeland added that she is also looking into
change in the registrations. Dr.Buckley inquired about lifetime registrations?Ms.Copeland replied that would be for animals that
are spayed or neutered and the fee for un-altered animals would rise. Ms. Copeland also added that we have 6 veterinarians that
issue the city registrations.
Ms. Massad asked about the mail in envelopes,they had been out at the veterinarian's office. Ms.Copeland replied that there are
changes being made for the envelopes and the last order was not our regular quantity ordered.
Ms.Copeland informed the committee the June report for the field went well;the focus was on citations and educating the citizens.
Ms. Copeland also reported that she had been doing a comparison on traps;the Cities of Arlington and Ft Worth do not offer traps.
ACS will provide a trap if available,a deposit is required and that will be returned.

Dr. Buckley asked about the 41'pick up. Ms.Copeland replied that the time it takes for the individual officers will be different and
the time it takes to go between each call. Ms. Copeland also added that we have one officer that picks up throughout the City. Mr.
Schroeder asked if there was a limit, Ms.Copeland replied not at this time. At this time the dead animals are going to the landfill,
we are looking into the possibility of acquiring a freezer to hold them. Dr. Buckley commented that maybe the skeletal of the
animals could be donated for school to use for research. Ms.Copeland added that the vets might be taken directly to the landfill.
Dr. Buckley asked how other facilities handle these. Ms.Copeland replied thru Environmental Department.
Ms. Copeland added that citizens bringing their own animals for euthanizing could be looking at paying a fee.
6. New Business
Reappointment of Members
A brief discussion was held if Dr.Watson and Dr.Buckley would like to continue on as Chairman and Co-Chairman.
Dr.Watson and Dr. Buckley agreed to continue on if needed.
Mr.Schroeder made a motion to accept to reappoint Dr. Buckley and Dr.Watson. Ms. Massad made 2^d the motion,all were in
favor, motion passed.
7. Old Business
Mr. Schroeder made a motion to approve the minutes for May 17th,2007 Dr.Buckley 2^d the motion and all were in favor.
Approval of May Absences
Dr. Buckley made a motion to approve the Ms. Massad's absence for May 1701, 2007, Mr. Schroeder 20d the motion and all were in
favor, motion passed.
8. Public Comments
Ms. Thiem voiced her concern in regards to the Spay/Neuter Clinic; that it has been over a year since the grant was awarded to
Animal Care Services and not having anything set in place as of yet. Ms.,Thiem wanted to know what kind of steps had been taken
in reference to acquiring the veterinarian. Ms. Copeland replied that she had gone to visit the local veterinarians and also met with
the local Veterinary Association. Ms. Copeland added that she had sent a-mails out to Veterinary Colleges and other organizations
throughout the United States with little replies. Ms. Copeland added that Corpus Christi has a low professional population. Ms.
Copeland added that she was very appreciative of everyone involved in the facility receiving the grant for the Spay/Neuter Clinic.
Ms.Thiem added that not many Animal Control's have on-site Spay/Neuter Clinics.
9. Adiournment
Ms. Massad made a motion to adjourn,Dr. Buckley 2^d the motion and all were in favor, motion passed. 1:15p.m.
